History
The 14th century really tested some peoples faith in Not only Jesus but I also the government, religion and each other. What they mainly wanted was a renaissance, which means rebirth and a new beginning. This beginning started in Italy when they were looking through rumble from the previous empire and found inspiration within it. They created whole new beliefs and laws, as they were celebrating their life as humans along with becoming 'creators' like God. This also triggered a massive trend with art due to the fact that they wanted to turn their art into more realistic figures. Artists all over Europe and Asia took advantage of their freedom of creativity, that later went on to create outstanding pieces of art. Although the Catholic Church did have some rules for the outcome of the artwork, it did nothing but inspire artists. They explored more materials, themes, techniques and many more.
Impact on Jesus
This was a very sad, exciting and inspirational for all individuals religious or not. Since artists were more open to try new things the portrayal of Jesus was very open, as in most people were very open minded. Jesus was portrayed as a real man or baby (depending on the image of Jesus) he had eyes, ears and a body figure along with limbs and facial expressions.
